Indeed Excel assessment practice
Indeed's own page says Indeed Assessments "has been sunset and is no longer available to new customers", so fewer employers send its Excel test now. You may still get an older link, or a similar Excel test from another platform. Practise both common formats: a quick multiple-choice screen and hands-on spreadsheet tasks.
ExcelReady is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Indeed. We don't have their questions. Our practice tests use the same format and skills, so you can prepare for whichever version you get.
What the Indeed Excel assessment is like
- Indeed says Indeed Assessments has been sunset and is no longer available to new customers.
- Employers who used it are moving to other screening tools, which usually test Excel in one of two ways: multiple-choice questions or tasks in a simulated spreadsheet.
- The skills are the same either way: formulas, SUMIF and COUNTIF, lookups, sorting and filtering, and formatting.

Tips for the day
- If an employer sends an Excel test link, check the email for the platform name and the time limit, then practise that format.
- Do a timed run before the real test: knowing the skill and doing it under a clock feel different.
