Terms of Service
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Please read these Terms carefully. They explain your rights and obligations when you use ExcelReady, how payments, renewals and refunds work, limits on our liability, and how disputes are resolved (including arbitration and a waiver of class actions in section 21). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you and ExcelReady ("ExcelReady", "we", "us" or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the website at excelready.app, our interactive lessons, practice spreadsheet, function guides, certificates, emails and any related features (together, the "Service").
By creating an account, buying a plan, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that organisation.
2. Who can use the Service
You may use the Service only if you can form a binding contract with us and are not barred from doing so under any applicable law.
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or buy a plan.
- If you are 13 to 15 years old, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use.
- The Service is not intended for children under 13, and they must not use it or give us personal data.
- You must not use the Service if you are located in a country, or are a person, subject to sanctions that prohibit you from receiving it.
3. Your account
Some parts of the Service require a free account. When you create one, you agree to:
- give a valid email address that you control, and keep it up to date;
- keep your password secret, use a strong password that you do not use elsewhere, and not let anyone else use your account;
- use one account per person. Accounts and Premium access are personal and may not be shared, sold or transferred;
- tell us straight away at hello@excelready.app if you think someone else has accessed your account.
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, except where it results from our own failure to take reasonable security measures. We may refuse a registration, or ask you to verify your email address or identity, where we reasonably believe it is needed to protect you, other users or the Service.
4. The Service, free access and Premium
ExcelReady provides interactive practice to help you learn spreadsheet skills. Some lessons are available without an account, some require a free account, and the rest require a paid plan ("Premium"). What is included in each tier is shown on our pricing page at the time you use it.
We are always improving the Service. We may add, change, re-order, replace or remove lessons, features and content at any time. If we remove a feature that is a material part of a paid plan you have already paid for, we will try to replace it with something of similar value or, where that is not reasonably possible, offer you a pro-rated refund for the unused part of your plan.
The Service runs in your web browser. You are responsible for your own device, browser and internet connection, and for any data charges.
5. Plans, prices and payment
- Prices. Prices are shown in US dollars on our pricing page and at checkout. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout when you buy. Your bank or card issuer may charge currency conversion or foreign transaction fees; those are your responsibility.
- Taxes. Prices may not include taxes such as sales tax, VAT, GST or service tax. Where we are required to collect tax, it will be shown at checkout and added to the price.
- Payment processor. Payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment provider. By paying, you also agree to Stripe's terms. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Authorisation. You confirm that you are authorised to use the payment method you provide, and you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge it for the plan you choose and, for subscriptions, for each renewal until you cancel.
- Price changes. We may change our prices. A change will not affect a period you have already paid for. For subscriptions, we will give you at least 14 days' notice by email before a new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you wish.
- Promotions. Discount codes and promotional prices are subject to the conditions stated with them, have no cash value, and may be withdrawn at any time before they are used.
6. Subscriptions, automatic renewal and cancellation
Monthly and Annual plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (every month or every year, from the date of your first payment), at the price then in effect, until you cancel. We will charge your payment method at the start of each new period.
How to cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in your account menu (where available) or by emailing hello@excelready.app from the email address on your account. Cancellation stops future renewals. You keep Premium access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund the remaining part of that period except as set out in section 8 or where the law requires it.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we (or Stripe) may retry it and may pause your Premium access until payment succeeds. If payment is still outstanding after a reasonable time, we may end your subscription.
7. Lifetime plan
The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment. It does not renew. It gives you Premium access for as long as ExcelReady offers the Service. "Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of the Service, not your lifetime or any fixed number of years.
If we decide to permanently shut down the Service within 24 months of your Lifetime purchase, we will give you at least 30 days' notice and refund a pro-rated part of your payment, calculated on a 24-month basis. After 24 months, no refund is due if the Service closes. Lifetime access is personal and may not be shared or transferred.
8. Refunds
30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not happy, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of your first payment for a plan. Email hello@excelready.app from the email address on your account. Refunds go back to the original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. When a refund is issued, your Premium access ends.
- The guarantee applies once per person. We may decline repeat requests, or requests from people who have previously received a refund or a chargeback for the Service.
- Renewal payments (the second and later payments of a subscription) are not refundable, except that if you forgot to cancel, you may ask for a refund within 7 days of the renewal date provided you have not used Premium since that renewal.
- We may refuse a refund where we reasonably believe the request is part of fraud or abuse, for example downloading or copying the content and then asking for a refund.
Chargebacks. Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank; most problems can be fixed quickly. If you file a chargeback, we may suspend your account while it is resolved. If a chargeback is found in our favour, you remain responsible for the amount.
Your statutory rights. Some countries give consumers a right to cancel online purchases within a set period (for example 14 days in the European Union and the United Kingdom). Because Premium gives you access to digital content immediately, by buying you ask us to start supplying it straight away and, where the law allows, you acknowledge that you lose that statutory cancellation right once access begins. Our 30-day guarantee above is in addition to, and does not reduce, any rights you have under the law of your country that cannot be excluded.
9. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal learning purposes. You must not, and must not help anyone else to:
- copy, download, scrape, record, republish, sell, rent, sublicense or distribute any lessons, exercises, answers, datasets, text, designs or other content from the Service, in whole or in part, except as section 10 allows;
- share your account, password or Premium access, or let more than one person use one account;
- use bots, scripts, crawlers or other automated means to access the Service, collect data from it, or complete lessons, except search-engine indexing of public pages;
- copy, decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code, formula engine or lesson data of the Service, except to the extent the law expressly allows;
- use the Service or its content to build, train, test or improve a competing product or any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model;
- probe, scan or test the Service for vulnerabilities, bypass security, access controls, paywalls or rate limits, or interfere with or overload the Service;
- upload or send anything unlawful, harmful, misleading, infringing, or containing malware;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation;
- misrepresent a certificate of completion, or use the Service to cheat in any test, exam or assessment where outside help is not allowed;
- use the Service in any way that breaks any law or regulation, or that harms us, other users or third parties.
If you find a security issue, please report it privately to hello@excelready.app and do not exploit or disclose it.
10. Intellectual property and licence
The Service and everything in it, including lessons, exercises, explanations, datasets, the practice spreadsheet and formula engine, software, text, graphics, logos, the ExcelReady name and brand, and their selection and arrangement, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual-property laws worldwide. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
Subject to these Terms (and, for Premium content, to an active plan), we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial learning. You may print or save your own certificate and make reasonable personal notes. No other use is allowed without our prior written permission.
Your feedback. If you send us ideas, suggestions or feedback, you give us a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right to use them for any purpose without paying or crediting you.
Your content. You keep any rights in what you type into the practice spreadsheet. You give us the right to store and process it as needed to run the Service for you.
11. Certificates of completion
A ExcelReady certificate shows only that the named person completed our online lessons. It is not an academic qualification, a professional certification, an accreditation, or a certification by Microsoft or any other organisation, and it does not guarantee any level of skill.
You must only put your own real name on a certificate. We may withdraw a certificate, and any public verification of it, if we reasonably believe it was obtained through cheating, account sharing, automation or other breach of these Terms.
12. Educational purpose, no guarantee of results
The Service is for general educational purposes only. Our practice spreadsheet is a simplified simulation built by us. It aims to behave like popular spreadsheet software but is not Microsoft Excel and may differ from any version of it in features, functions, formulas, shortcuts, results and appearance.
We do not promise or guarantee that using the Service will lead to any job offer, interview result, test score, promotion, pay rise or other outcome. Results depend on you and on factors outside our control. Content may contain errors or become out of date, and is not professional, financial, accounting, tax or legal advice. Check important work and calculations independently before relying on them.
13. Trademarks and no affiliation
ExcelReady is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. Excel is a trademark of the Microsoft group of companies.
Other product and company names mentioned in the Service may be trademarks of their respective owners. We use them only to describe the skills we teach, and their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those owners.
14. Third-party services and links
The Service relies on third-party providers (for example for hosting, payments and email) and may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party websites, services or content, or for their availability or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
15. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free, or that your progress data will never be lost. We may suspend the Service, or any part of it, for maintenance, updates, security, legal reasons or events outside our control. We may also stop offering the Service. Where reasonably possible, we will give notice of planned changes that significantly affect paying users.
16. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties, representations or conditions of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, title and non-infringement.
Some laws do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes any guarantee or right that applies under the Consumer Protection Act 1999 of Malaysia, the Australian Consumer Law, or any other consumer-protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where such a law applies, our liability is limited to the extent that law allows (for example, to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again).
17. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, employment, data, goodwill or reputation, arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms, even if we have been told such loss was possible; and (b) our total liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms, in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, will not exceed the greater of (i) the total amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (ii) US$50.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law. These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they reflect a reasonable allocation of risk that is reflected in our prices.
18. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless ExcelReady and its owners, officers, employees, agents and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
19. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@excelready.app (see our Privacy Policy). Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a subscription; please cancel it first.
We may suspend or end your access to all or part of the Service, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we must do so to comply with the law, if your use creates risk or possible legal exposure for us or others, or in cases of suspected fraud, abuse or non-payment. If we end your access because you breached these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund. If we end your paid access for any other reason (other than closing the Service, covered in section 7), we will refund the unused part of any period you paid for.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including those on intellectual property, payments owed, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and disputes) will survive.
20. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Service or the law. We will post the updated Terms on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If a change materially reduces your rights, we will give you at least 14 days' notice by email or on the Service before it takes effect. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your subscription before the changes apply. If you keep using the Service after they take effect, you accept the updated Terms. Changes do not apply retrospectively to disputes that arose before them.
21. Governing law and disputes
Governing law. These Terms, and any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the laws of Malaysia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Talk to us first. Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at hello@excelready.app and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
Arbitration. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be finally resolved by arbitration administered by the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC) under its Arbitration Rules in force at the time. There will be one arbitrator. The seat (legal place) of arbitration is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the language is English, and hearings may be held online. The award will be final and binding and may be enforced in any court with jurisdiction.
No class actions. To the extent permitted by law, disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated or representative action.
Exceptions. Either party may (a) bring an individual claim in a small-claims court or tribunal, including the Tribunal for Consumer Claims Malaysia, where the claim qualifies; and (b) ask any court for urgent injunctive or other interim relief to protect intellectual property or confidential information. Subject to the arbitration agreement above, the courts of Malaysia have exclusive jurisdiction.
Consumers in other countries. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section takes away mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, or any non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Where local law makes any part of this section unenforceable against you, that part does not apply to you and the rest continues to apply.
22. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms and our Privacy Policy, together with any terms shown at checkout, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service and replace any earlier agreements or statements.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be changed only as much as needed to make it enforceable, and the rest will remain in full effect.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms. We may transfer ours, including to a company we set up or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, and will tell you if this affects your rights.
- Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of hosting, payment or internet providers, cyber-attacks, natural disasters, pandemics, war or government action.
- Electronic communications. You agree that we may communicate with you electronically (by email or through the Service) and that electronic agreements, notices and records satisfy any legal requirement for them to be in writing, including under the Electronic Commerce Act 2006 of Malaysia.
- Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation, the English version prevails if there is any conflict, unless the law requires otherwise.
- No third-party rights. Only you and we may enforce these Terms.
